Petition to Administer Estate Publication
California Probate Code §8120 requires Notice of Petition to Administer Estate to be published three times in a newspaper of general circulation in the city or judicial district where the decedent resided. The purpose is to notify heirs, beneficiaries, and creditors that a probate proceeding has been opened.
Notice of Petition to Administer Estate
- Three publications required (Probate Code §8121)
- First publication at least 15 days before the hearing date
- Notice must include the decedent's name, hearing date, and personal representative
- Proof of Publication must be filed with the Superior Court before the hearing
